There are a few somethings every ultra cool street style look has in common. An effortless basic, a pop of color and a statement piece. Sometimes all 3! Here are a few street style essentials you NEED for fall if you want to achieve that “I’m on my way to fashion week and I’m going to sit front row and kill it” type of look.

The effortless basic!

Outerwear is my favorite layer of all time. I buy outerwear like most people buy shirts. I have a ton of variety and it’s the one piece that can literally change your entire look. When you look at any fall street style look, the outerwear is always what stands out first. I have linked some shoppable versions below.

A Pop of Color

If we’ve learned anything from the latest fall trend reports it’s that everyone is craving a fall and winter season full of color. I love seeing neutral outfits with that unexpected pop of color we didn’t know we needed. I am also a huge fan of unexpected color combinations. Either way, if fun, bright, saturated colors are your jam then now is the time to live your best life.

Statement Pieces

While pops of color can be considered the statement piece of your outfit, prints silhouettes and embellishments can be as well. I love sequin and beading but I also love when I see someone wearing a piece and the structure of that piece is like art. All good street style looks have one gem that makes you do a double take and this is what street style photographers go wild over.
