Dear Future, Hello Past

I had a thought… All of the content we create today, whether it be a blog post, a fashion post, a news article, an instagram post, a facebook post, etc… all of these things are stored with technology AND all of these things are just a part of our story; Our way of showing how we’ve lived life up to this point and what we’ve learned so far. If you take this and relate it back to the Bible, all of those books were written by people living a life with and without God. Through the technology we have today we’ve been able to uncover these books, dig into them, translate them, and figure out how they were meant to be understood.

What if everything you put out on the internet today is for a future generation to use, understand and live by? In the future, technology is only going to get better. With their technology, there is no telling what the generation 1000 years from now will be able to uncover about how we lived today and how it effected their future. Is what you put out today something you would want your future generations to live by? A better question would be what legacy are you setting for your future generations to live by? In the end, the future, our future, is the next generation and theirs after. If we had to create a manual for how the best possible, FULL, happiest life could be lived, what would YOU say? What would YOU put out into the world?

What IF, every so often a past generation understood this, took the opportunity to write down what they knew with the hopes we’d find it and be able to understand it later? Would this change how you lived life? Would this change how you documented it?
